Importance of Institutional Accreditation
Institutional accreditation is essential for assessing the effectiveness of an institution in delivering high-quality tertiary education.
It scrutinizes the institution’s ability to administer academic programmes and evaluates its governance, management, financial stability, faculty quality, facilities, services, accountability processes, sustainability, and educational outcomes.
As a voluntary process, accreditation offers a structured opportunity for self-regulation and supports The UWI St. Augustine Campus in its ongoing commitment to improvement.
Throughout the accreditation process, the Campus develops its Self-Study Report, engaging in critical problem-solving, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation—activities that are fundamental to active learning at an institutional level.
External peer evaluators conduct thorough assessments to verify our educational quality against the accreditation regulator’s standards and provide recommendations for ongoing enhancement.
