The UWI St. Augustine was the first of the UWI Campuses to achieve Institutional Accreditation.
2017
Highlights from the 2017 points of commendation coming out of the evaluators’ report included:
- The campus has strong leadership at senior management levels, including the faculties, the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), the Division of Student Services and Development (DSSD) and the Guild of Students.
- There is ‘great progress’ in the professionalisation of teaching and learning. CETL and the Certificate in Teaching and Learning (CUTL) were highly commended in this regard.
- The campus boasts a quality assurance system that is mature, sophisticated and reflective of best international practice.
- UWI St. Augustine has a well-embedded student centered culture.
- The campus has efficiently managed a fifteen per cent (15%) reduction in Government financial support while protecting teaching and learning resources and maintaining a health cash balance. Efficiencies at the Faculty and Department levels were particularly notable.
