Teaching and Learning Community (TLC)
Join the Community
The Teaching and Learning Community (TLC) is an exclusive digital platform created specifically for staff members of the University of the West Indies (UWI). Since its establishment in 2022, the TLC has evolved into a dynamic and engaging hub where Higher Education professionals come together to collaborate, innovate, and grow.
Designed with the needs of educators in mind, the TLC provides a supportive space for members to share best practices, exchange fresh ideas, and explore emerging trends in teaching and learning. It serves as both a knowledge-sharing network and a professional development resource, enabling staff to learn from one another’s experiences and collectively raise the standard of education at UWI.
With its focus on advancing teaching excellence and fostering innovation, the TLC empowers staff to strengthen their pedagogical skills, experiment with new approaches, and integrate evidence-based strategies into their practice. By encouraging cross-campus dialogue and collaboration, the community not only enhances individual expertise but also contributes to shaping a more impactful and transformative educational environment across the University and the wider Caribbean region.
Purpose and Impact
TLC’s primary purpose is to create a collaborative environment where UWI staff can connect, share experiences, and leverage collective expertise. Through meaningful discussions and shared insights, the community aims to drive continuous improvement and innovation in teaching practices. By promoting a culture of knowledge exchange, TLC contributes to the overall enhancement of educational standards and student success at UWI.
At the heart of TLC is the recognition and promotion of best practices in Higher Education. Members actively share successful teaching methods, innovative instructional design strategies, and transformative approaches to student engagement. By highlighting these exemplary practices, TLC inspires its members to adopt and adapt effective approaches, leading to improved learning outcomes and enhanced student experiences across the UWI community.
