GRAPHIC POSTER COMPETITION

- Graduate Student Category
The poster presentation should be approachable at three levels:
- A title that provides information on the general nature of your work;
- A presentation format that clearly outlines the objectives, the methodology applied and your conclusions of either your:
- SBA
- IA
- Research Project
- or theme "Pursuing Development through Diversification"
- Sufficient information that would engage the attention of persons viewing your presentation and encourage questions and further discussion with the presenter.

Who may submit a poster
- Any sixth Form CAPE Economics class within Trinidad and Tobago.
- Any UWI Graduating M.Sc. Economics Student
How to enter
Submit an abstract of your SBA or IA or Research Project or the concept of the theme "Pursuing Development through Diversification" by the 20th September 2013 to cote@Sta.uwi.edu
Guidelines for abstracts are as follows:
- Abstract must be limited to 250 words
- Abstract must include the title of project, authors, name of school and contact information
- Abstract must include aims, methodology and findings
Workshop
Each registered team can choose to participate in a Graphic Poster Making Workshop on 14th September 2013 9:00am, Centre for Creative Arts, Gordon Street, St Augustine

Deadlines
Submission of Abstracts – 20th September 2013
Submission of Posters – 7th October 2013
*Posters will be displayed during the both days of the conference
Prizes
1st Prize - $2000.00
2nd Prize - $1500.00
3rd Prize -$1000.00
Prizes will be awarded on the basis of:
1. the level of adherence to the rules on the “preparation of the poster” and
2. the presentation of poster to the Panel of Judges.
General
Multiple posters – Each School or Graduate Student may present a maximum of two (2) posters.
Presentation- Posters must be presented on the first day of the conference i.e. Thursday 10th October 2013

Who may submit a poster
Any Sixth Form or fifth form CAPE economics class within Trinidad and Tobago.
How to enter
Register in advance with Ms. Cindy James (cote@sta.uwi.edu), e-mail the following information.
i. Student Team: Name of the team, Team member names and contact information – emails addresses and phone numbers, with one team member designated at team captain
ii. School Affiliation: Name of School, Mailing Address and Phone Number
iii. Title of Poster: Title, with a descriptive paragraph that details the content of the poster
iv. Supervisor: Teacher/ Administrator’s name and contact information – email address and phone number
Poster pre-registrations must be submitted no later than Monday, September 13th, 2013.
Each registered team is required to participate in a Mixed Media Poster making Workshop on 14th September 2013 1:00pm, Centre for Creative Arts, Gordon Street, St Augustine
Rules
- Each poster must be the work of a team, which can comprise of any number of students from the same school.
- The poster concept and design and any photos or artwork used must be the original work of the team entering.
- Posters must be 15 x 20 inches in size, including border or mat, if used.
- The poster must include at least three (3) 3-dimensional components.
- The following information must be included on the back of the poster: Team Name and Institution, Mailing address, e-mail address and phone number.
- Please do not include glass, tacks, staples or any other breakable or sharp objects with your entry.
Prizes
1st Prize - $2000.00 and School Challenge Trophy
2nd Prize - $1500.00
3rd Prize -$1000.00
The selection of the winning presentations will be based on:
- The clarity of your poster
- The completeness of your work
- Innovative design
