Aims of the Conference

The aims of the conference are:

1. To bring together international, regional and local experts on the issues of transparency and accountability with respect to taxes paid, tax revenues distributed and the use of petroleum revenues etc.
2. To strengthen the local efforts of the extractive industries  in transparency initiatives
3. To improve awareness of transparency and accountability issues.
4. To provide the Government, citizenry, civil society networks, academic and other such bodies with the tools needed to insist upon and ensure a continued high level of accountability and an improvement in accountability of petroleum resources.
