Dr Sabrina Mc Millan-Solomon has been involved in the education sector for over 20 years, both at the primary and tertiary levels. She holds the portfolio of Lecturer in Education with the School of Education (SOE), UWI, St. Augustine Campus since 2021. Her tertiary teaching profile includes Teacher Education, Research and Research both at the Undergraduate and Post-Graduate levels.  She also holds the position of Reading Assessment and Clinical Intervention Specialist at the Reading Clinic at the Psychoeducational Diagnostic and Intervention Clinic (PEDIC) at The UWI since 2019.

She entered the education sector in 1998 as a primary school teacher and possesses a Teaching Diploma from the Valsayn Teachers’ College with a concentration in Mathematics. She also possesses a Bachelor of Education in Primary Education (specialisation in Mathematics), a Master of Education in Reading and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education, all attained at The University of the West Indies St. Augustine. Dr. Mc Millan-Solomon also has training and qualifications in the areas of Grounded Theory Methodology from the Grounded Theory Institute, Dyslexia training from Dyslexia Training Institute in San Diego and Trinidad and Tobago Dyslexia Association and A Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder from The University of Kansas. 

She has assisted with facilitating numerous workshops with principals and teachers in relation to educational assessment, data use and reading. At PEDIC, she has conducted numerous reading assessments using a comprehensive battery of tests that measures reading readiness and the various pillars of reading. Reading interventions have also been provided to students which were tailored to their relative strengths and challenges using both face-to-face and online modes.
