Ms. Tracey G. Elcock is an Assistant Lecturer at the School of Education, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. Ms. Elcock teaches and tutors Graduate courses in the Teaching of Social Studies (Geography) and Curriculum, and an Undergraduate course in Teaching Geographical Skills. She is currently a team member of the Educational Foundations and Issues in Education and The Reflective Practitioner Courses at the School of Education. She has also been an educator for more than 28 years and was promoted to Head of Department (Modern Studies) at a Secondary School in South Trinidad since 2022. Ms. Elcock completed her undergraduate BA Geography degree at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, and her Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Master of Science in Planning and Development and Master of Education, with a concentration in Curriculum, from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. Her consummate intelligence and conviviality were evidenced by her all-round excellent performance at Corinth Teachers’ College, where she received a Teachers’ Diploma. She enjoys performing the function of chairperson and takes her professional calling as an educator seriously. Ms. Elcock has an infective spirit of positivity and describes herself as a human geographer with a research interest in extracurricular school-based activities, including cultural music infusion in Curriculum offerings.
