On Friday 21st July 2023, five veterinary students arrived from the College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), India, to partake in an exposure training program at the School of Veterinary Medicine, U.W.I. Drs. Sundaram, Jones and Lall received them at the airport and accompanied them to the Joyce Gibson Inniss Hall, where they stayed during their visit (21/07/2023 – 18/08/2023). In the first two weeks, the students were exposed to the small animal clinic, digital imaging, pathology, equine, aquatic animal health and microbiology. Although they were on a schedule, it was flexible to allow them to partake in any interesting cases or events. One such example was the ability to view and handle female bovine reproductive tracts, where they learnt to feel slippage of the fetal membrane and were allowed to collect samples. They were divided into two groups for the subsequent two weeks, as they joined the year five students for the in-house sessions.
