Welcome to the Department of Physics Postgraduate Programmes.

 

The Department of Physics is committed to delivering internationally recognized teaching and research programmes in Pure & Applied Physics. At the postgraduate level, we offer a taught programme leading to the Master of Science (MSc) in Renewable Energy Technology, Master of Biomedical Physics and research degrees in these branches of physics leading to the Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) & the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). These programmes are inclusive of practical components supported by specialized departmental laboratories, filed trips and research areas.

 

Entry Requirements

The minimum qualification for admission to the MPhil programme is a BSc General Honours degree in Physics (minimum GPA 3.0) or its equivalent from an approved University.

A candidate admitted for postgraduate studies with a Pass or a Lower Second Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is normally required to take a qualifying examination by the end of the first year. Passing of the qualifying examination is a prerequisite for the continuation of postgraduate studies and submission of thesis
