Course Description
Importance of natural products to man - medicine, agriculture - and in plant-plant and plantanimal interactions. Biosynthesis of natural products in acetate-malonate (polyketides), mevalonate (terpenoids), shikimic acid (aromatics), amino acids (alkaloids), modern methods of characterization of natural products; manipulating biosynthetic pathways.
