Research Interests

  • Designing mostly 1st transition series metal complexes using ligands such as polypyridyl, hydrazones, Schiff bases, which are versatile and provide a rigid coordination geometry.
  • Developing metal catalyst of desired specific conversion such as conversion of CO2 to useful organic molecule, conversion of biomasses to energy efficient molecules.
  • Metal complexes are well known for their rich photophysical properties which can be tuned by modification of ligands attached to metals.
  • Interest lies in to use such metal complexes in developing (i) bioluminescent complexes for biomedical uses, (ii) conversion of vastly and freely available Solar energy to meet energy challenges.
