Β πŸ‘‹ Meet the Facilitators!

Dr. Timothy Affonso is an attorney-at-law with almost 20 years’ experience. He has worked as a state prosecutor, extradition attorney and civil litigator. He has extensive experience in drafting complex contracts and litigating breach of contract cases involving multi-million dollar claims. He is an attorney at Law and Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, UWI, St. Augustine Campus. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree, Masters of Law Degree, with Distinction, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Law. He has conducted several public awareness and training seminars on elder law, succession law, and advocacy. He has taught contract law for more than a decade and holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in University Teaching and Learning, with Distinction.

Shivangelie Ramoutar is an attorney-at-law, Deputy Dean for Student Matters and a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus who holds a Master of Law (LL.M.) in Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge. Her legal career includes advising on complex commercial transactions, joint ventures, corporate governance, and financial instruments. She has worked closely with both private & state-owned enterprises on high-value acquisitions, corporate restructurings, and regulatory compliance. She also has experience in civil and commercial litigation, including legal challenges to contract clauses that influenced high-value transactions. Both her practical legal advisory experience and courtroom experience give her a well-rounded understanding of how contracts work in real life.
