Mr. Shane Pantin

He is a graduate of The University of the West Indies, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) (Hons) in History and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons). He attended Hugh Wooding Law School, obtaining his Legal Education Certificate (LEC), and further pursued his studies at the University of London, earning a Master of Laws (LLM) degree, specialising in Financial Services Law. He was admitted to practise in 2017. He has diverse legal experience, having worked at the Caribbean Court of Justice, the Solicitor General’s Department of the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs, and in private practice at Richard Sirjoo & Co. Currently, he serves as Judicial Research Counsel at the Court of Appeal of Trinidad and Tobago.

Teaching Interests:

  • His research and teaching interests encompass Legal Writing and Research, Contract Law, and Tort Law. He also maintains a strong interest in the social and political history of Trinidad and Tobago, the wider Caribbean, and global history.

Research Interest:

  • My research interests focus on emerging and evolving areas of law, particularly the integration of Artificial Intelligence into legal systems and its wider applications across other fields.
