COURSE OF STUDY:

The Faculty of Law offers two research degree options, the MPhil and the PhD. The MPhil and PhD programmes are available on a part-time and full-timebasis. Students accepted to the research programmes are expected to conduct original and independent research, and contribute to the research profile of the Faculty of Law.

AVAILABILITY OF EXPERTISE & RESOURCES:

Admission is contingent on whether candidates have a thesis proposal compatible with the expertise and resources available at the Faculty of Law (St. Augustine).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicants should ideally possess an LLB with upper second class honours or better and an LLM with merit or better from an approved University. It will be desirable to demonstrate a prior record of research through peerreviewed journal articles, research papers, dissertations, or other relevant publications.
  • In extraordinary circumstances, applicants possessing other qualifications may be considered for admission.
  • Applicants are advised to check with the Faculty of Law to determine whether their proposed research area is viable and to obtain more information on therequirements for the research proposal.
