Ms. Hannah Hylton – Edwards

Hannah Hylton-Edwards joined the Faculty as a Tutor in 2018 and now serves as an Undergraduate and Postgraduate Lecturer in Law. She has taught Public International Law, Banking Law, Criminal Law, and Law of Torts. She was admitted to practise Law in 2020 and is an Advocate Attorney-at-Law qualified to practise in both the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and the Republic of Guyana. Since being called to the Bar, she established her own private legal practice and regularly appears before the Supreme Courts specialising in matters of family law, commercial and civil litigation, tortious and negligence claims, international law, and public law. In 2021, she attained her Master of Laws Degree in Public Law (with Distinction) from the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus. She also holds a Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School and graduated as a Dean’s List Honouree from the UWI, obtaining her Bachelor of Laws Degree with Upper Class Honours. Her areas of academic interest, and where she intends to focus her doctoral research, include International Law, Human Rights Law, Environmental Law, and Antitrust Law. Hannah also serves as Legal Advisor with the UWI Rights Advocacy Project (U-RAP) and as Corporate Secretary on the Board for the Caribbean Centre for Human Rights.
