Event Date(s): 22/02/2016 - 26/02/2016

Location: IIR Lecture Room I, UWI St. Augustine Campus

The Institute of International Relations (IIR) presents the German Unification Exhibition.

This exhibition traces the way to German unity from the beginning of the division after World War II, to the peaceful revolution in the autumn of 1989, to reunification on October 3, 1990. More than 150 photographs and facsimiles and accompanying texts relate how the peaceful revolution in the GDR did what no one had dared hope for and brought German reunification onto the agenda of German and international politics. The exhibition examines both the developments within Germany and the diplomatic negotiations that made reunification on 3 October 1990 possible.

The exhibition was prepared by Federal Foundation for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Germany in cooperation with the Federal Foreign Office.

The exhibition continues February 22 until February 26  from 9am to 4pm. All are invited. Light refreshments will be provided.
