World Cocoa and Chocolate Day (WCCD8) Expo 2019 and Inbound Trade Mission

The UWI Cocoa Research Centre (CRC) hosts the 8thannual World Cocoa and Chocolate Day (WCCD8) Expo 2019 and Inbound Trade Mission.

Check out the following activities open to the public all happening at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad:

  • World Cocoa and Chocolate Day Expo: October 4 and 5 | 9am to 6pm at the Port of Spain Ballroom, Hyatt Regency. Admission $20.  
  • Chocolate Demo and Sampling with Régis Bouet: October 4 | 6pm | Diamond and Topaz rooms, Limited tickets on sale, $300.
  • Chocolate Flavours of the World: October 4 | 1pm | Diamond and Topaz Rooms, Hyatt Regency. Limited tickets on sale, $200.
  • Angostura Rum and Chocolate Pairing: October 5 | 6pm | Diamond and Topaz Rooms, Hyatt Limited tickets on sale, $200.

About Chocolate Flavours of the World

The cocoa trees that produce chocolates referred to as the ‘food of the gods’, has been moved by mankind from its origin in the tropical West Coast of South America or the Amazon basin, throughout the tropical world to as far East as the Pacific Islands.  The cocoa type or variety grown, the growing environment, the traditions of fermenting and drying cocoa practiced in distinct parts of the world has influenced the flavours of chocolate.  The event takes you on a tour of the travel of the cocoa tree around the world that has produced the delectable diversity of flavours and aromas that excites our pallet.  Come experience the historic travels of the humble cocoa plant from its amazon origins to its tropical locations across the world to create the Chocolate Flavours of the World.
