The UWI SPEC International Half-Marathon is back again in 2024! This year's race is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, 2024 and will again feature a 5K that will now be a part of race morning. 

This year’s edition will seek to highlight dyslexia. Through collaboration with The Dyslexia Association (T&T), a registered charity, we aim to raise funds for important resources to aid with teacher training in structured literacy education and to engage in outreach initiatives. Sport can be a valuable tool for individuals with dyslexia to develop important skills, improve their overall well-being, and enjoy a sense of accomplishment and belonging, and we are intent on using this year’s race to promote such.

The half-marathon will commence at 5:00 a.m. from The UWI Sport and Physical Education Centre (SPEC), with the established 13.1-mile route remaining unchanged. Runners will follow the unobstructed Priority Bus Route, starting from St. Augustine and leading to the La Resource Junction in D’Abadie, before retracing the same path. The 5K will begin at 5:15 a.m. 

The cost of registration for the half marathon is as follows:

- 5K |Nationals | Minimum Age: 8 (TT$170.00)

- 5K | Regional and International Participants | Minimum Age: 8 - (US$ 30.00)

- Half-Marathon | Resident | Minimum age: 15 –(TT$200.00)

- Half-Marathon | Regional and International Participants | Minimum age :15 – (US$50.00) 

Persons will need a credit or international debit card to complete registration. If you do not have access to a credit card you can purchase a voucher code at The Sport & Physical Education Centre (SPEC), UWI. Voucher codes will also be available throughout the country at PayWise Agents. Please note that most of those agents are charging a TTD $10.00 transaction fee which is borne by the purchaser.

In addition, please bear in mind purchasing a code does not mean you are registered. After purchasing a voucher code, you now have to use to code to complete the registration online on the UWI Half-Marathon website (click here)

Registration will automatically close when 2000 persons have registered for the race, so be sure to secure your number today.

The distribution of packages will be done Sunday, November 03 to Saturday, November 09, 2024 at UWI SPEC between the following times:

Weekdays | 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Saturday | 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Sunday | 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

There will be no package collection on race day.
