General Notices

The UWI Office of the Board for Undergraduate Studies (OBUS) invites persons to submit academic essays and research reports for 28^th Issue of The UWI Quality Education Forum (QEF) by Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

These submissions should be on aspects of Higher Education and Sustainability which may consider, but are not limited to the following areas:

- Providing sustainable higher education in societies where the poorest are the least able to gain access.

- The sustainability of universities in terms of their financing - notably from the public purse, philanthropy, tuition fees, student debt, part time study by students who work to fund their education, etc. and how all the preceding affects teaching and learning.

- The skill sets provided by university education in the new knowledge environment created by the developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and /or the role AI can play internal to the university in producing those skill sets amongst its students.

- Fostering student awareness by enhancing ability to meet challenges and move higher education in a sustainable direction.

- The performance of higher education institutions in providing education that is relevant to the UN Sustainable Goals.

Abstracts should be between 400 and 500 words. All abstracts must be submitted via email to qef.obus@uwimona.edu.jm in the form of an attached Microsoft Word document (.docx.). All Manuscripts must conform to the specifications set forth in the 17th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style. Any questions or queries may be directed to qef.obus@uwimona.edu.jm.
