Hosted by The UWI’s Sport and Physical Education Centre (SPEC) and the St Augustine Academy of Sport, this year’s race will also include a 5K. Explore the critical issues surrounding alcohol consumption in the English- speaking Caribbean. Hosted by the Department of Para-Clinical Sciences in UWI St Augustine’s Faculty of Medical Sciences, this conference brings together experts, professionals, and stakeholders to raise awareness of the harmful effects of alcohol consumption in the region. It will also commemorate the Eighth Annual Caribbean Alcohol Reduction Day organised by the Healthy Caribbean Coalition.
The conference will look at topics such as alcohol and mental health, alcohol consumption among the youth, alcohol and the elderly, alcohol’s impact on women and families, alcohol and conditions such as hypertension and cardiovascular disease, and many others.
