Where and when will the UWI Games 2026 be hosted?

The Games will be hosted in Trinidad & Tobago, with the main hub at The UWI St. Augustine Campus, alongside national sporting venues. from May 22–30, 2026.

Which sports are included in the UWI Games?

The 2026 UWI Games will feature ten sporting disciplines, including cricket, football, basketball, lawn tennis, swimming, table tennis, hockey, volleyball, netball, and track & field.

Who can participate in the UWI Games?

Participation is open to eligible student-athletes representing their respective UWI campuses, in accordance with competition rules and eligibility criteria.

How are teams selected?

Each sporting discipline will have trials and athletes will be selected based on criteria set by the coaches.

Which campuses will be participating?

All five UWI campuses will participate: Cave Hill, Five Islands, Global Campus, Mona, and St. Augustine.

No. Admission is free.

Yes. The Opening Ceremony is carded for Friday 22 May, 2026.

What is the UWI Games torch relay?

The torch relay is a symbolic tradition inspired by the Olympic Games. The relay will culminate at the Opening Ceremony, with the lighting of the flame signifying unity, renewed passion, and the official commencement of the Games.
