- What is the application fee?
There is no application fee for Graduate Studies

- What documents do I need to apply for my PGDip, M.A., MEd., M.Sc., DM, MD, EMBA, IMBA, MPhil or Phd.?
UWI graduates:
- Marriage Certificate (where applicable)
- Legal Affidavit or Deed Poll if your present name is different from that on the Birth Certificate
- Professional Certificates/Diplomas obtained from Institutions other than UWI
- Two (2) referees’ reports
- Research Proposal (M.Phil., Ph.D. and M.D. applicants only)
- Curriculum vitae
- Confirmation of Employment (applicants to Engineering programmes)
- Copy of Confirmation Receipt
- Official Transcript from granting institutions other than UWI
Non-UWI graduates/ Open Campus/ Other UWI Campuses:
- Birth Certificate.
- Marriage Certificate (where applicable).
- Legal Affidavit or Deed Poll if your present name is different from that on the Birth Certificate
- Professional Certificates/Diplomas.
- Official transcripts (sent directly from granting institution)
- TOEFL Score of 500 or greater (if English is not your first Language)

- How do I know that I have been accepted into a programme?
You will get an email that states the outcome of your application in July or August and you can track your application online by logging into https://ssb.sta.uwi.edu/proddad/bwskalog.P_DispLoginNon
- Can I apply for more than one programme?
No. Only one application will be considered at a time.
- Can I switch my application?
Yes. You can email us at pgonline@sta.uwi.edu or write a letter and address it to our office stating which programme you applied to and what is your preferred choice now.
- I applied last year but did not take up my offer, do I have to re-apply?
Yes. However your reference reports are valid for a year so you can request that your reports be considered with your new application. Applicants for School of Education must re-submit new reports.
- When should I expect a response concerning my application?
You should expect a response via email during July and August of the Academic year in which you expect to commence your studies.
- How will I know that all my documents have been received for my Application?

- Where can I get forms to apply for my PGDip, M.A., M.Sc., DM, MD, EMBA, IMBA, MPhil or Phd.?
The Application process is electronic (online) and not paper based. However, hardcopies of all other supporting documentation are required.
- I tried to apply for a programme but that option is not coming up, why?
The programme is not being offered for the upcoming Academic Year. You can check with the relevant department for more information.
- Why was my application not accepted?
You may not have met the criteria because:
-your application had outstanding documents,
-your transcript was incomplete,
-your reference reports were not supportive,
-the programme was oversubscribed
-your application was submitted after the deadline
-your application did not satisfy the entry requirements
-your research proposal could not be accommodated

- Where do I pay my registration and tuition fees?
You can pay your fees at any Republic Bank Branch in Trinidad and Tobago with your Bank Slip. On-line payment is coming soon.
- Where can I get a bank slip to pay my fees?
At the Bursary Section in the New Student Administration Building on the Ground Floor.
- Can I apply for a scholarship?

- Where can I get forms?

- Where can I find my class schedule?
You can see a tentative schedule of the days and times of your class at this link http://www2.sta.uwi.edu/timetable/ Take note that the online schedule applies for this current Academic year and It is based on the availability of the Lecturer so changes can be made for the following semester.
- Where can I get a GATE form?
At the Bursary in the New Student Administration Building on the Ground Floor.
- I cannot access my grades online, why?
You may have outstanding fees or other holds. You can contact the Bursary Section.
- If I sign up as a Full Time, Part Time or Evening student what will my class schedule look like?
Further information you can contact your relevant department. The contact information is listed in the relevant Faculty Booklets.
Project/ Thesis
- I have completed all my taught courses and am ready to start my research paper, what is my next step?
You must contact your department to be assigned a supervisor.
- How do I get a plagiarism report?
You can visit http://my.uwi.edu/ , log into myelearning and click on the turnitin link. You can print this report and submit to your Supervisor.
- Where can I find guidelines for submitting my project?

- I have submitted my project, what is my next step?
You must register every semester until you are awarded your degree. Please note that you should attach a copy of your certificate of completion to your Registration Fee Assessment Sheet.
- I am almost ready to submit my M.Phil or Ph.D thesis, what do I do?
You must submit 2 forms.
1 – ‘Application for Examination of Thesis Form’ which should be completed 2 months prior to submission
2 – ‘Certificate of Completion’ which should be signed by Departmental head and submitted with copies of project

- How many copies of my project/thesis do I have to submit?
For your MSc you must submit 4 copies, MPhil you must submit 5 copies and for your PhD 6, copies. However candidates are strongly advised to consult with their supervisor.
