Prior to her appointment as the T&T Chamber CEO, Ms Kumar held several senior leadership positions such as President & Country Head of RBTT Bank Limited and Inspector of Financial Institutions at the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. Ms Kumar was inducted into the Hall of Excellence at St. Joseph’s Convent P.O.S, in recognition of her outstanding achievements in business.

Ashram Beharry | CEO | Education Facilities Company Limited
Mr. Ashram Beharry has over thirty (30) years of working experience in the Oil & Gas industry in Trinidad and Tobago at senior management positions. His strong competencies in General Management, Finance, Human Resources and HSEQ, is drawn from his considerable experience in the management and operations of large private and public sector companies. Mr. Beharry holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of the West Indies/Institute of Business and is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) of the U.K.

Dr. Basil Springer | Change-Engine Consultant | Caribbean Business Enterprise Trust Inc., Barbados
Dr. Basil G. F. Springer obtained his PhD at Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London. He practised as a Biometrician in the Faculty of Agriculture, UWI, Trinidad; the Caribbean Community Secretariat; Food & Agriculture Organization; and the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute, between 1968/77. The Caribbean Business Enterprise Trust Inc. in Barbados is currently promoting The CBET Shepherding Model™, in the Caribbean and beyond. The Barbados Quick Response Venture Capital Fund was launched in November 2009 and there are eight emerging businesses which are now part of the Bimventures family and over 70 others waiting in the pipeline.

Dr. Andrew Powell | Economist | Inter-American Development Bank
Andrew Powell is the Principal Advisor in the Research Department of the IADB. He holds a Ba, MPhil. and DPhil. (PhD) from the University of Oxford. He joined the IDB’s Research Department in 2005 as Lead Research Economist and in 2008 became the Regional Economic Advisor for the Caribbean Region, until returning to the Research Department as the Principal Advisor in 2010. He has published in areas including commodity markets, risk management, the role of multilaterals, regulation, banking and international finance and current projects include papers on the costs and benefits of financial innovation, banking regulation and debt restructuring.

Dr. Gene Leon | IMF Senior Resident Representative to Jamaica
Dr. Gene Leon has been at the IMF for 16 years, most recently in the Middle East and Central Asia Department. Key assignments have included developing the first Fund program for Iraq. Prior to this, he was the head of research at Central Bank of Barbados, as well as an associate professor at the State University of New York.

Prof. Compton Bourne | Executive Director | Caribbean Centre for Money & Finance, UWI
Professor Bourne was President of the Caribbean Development Bank from 1 May, 2001 to 30 April 2011, prior to his current position. He has been an active contributor to public economic policy in the Caribbean, Africa and the Philippines since 1975, and has advised CARICOM Governments, the Caribbean Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank and USAID on monetary and financial market policy.

Dr. Densil A. Williams is a senior lecturer of international business. His research interests are in the areas of internationalization, competitiveness and economic
development. He has published his works in international journals in Europe and North America and is the author of two books.

Mr. Nicolas Lok Jack | President | Trinidad & Tobago Manufacturers’ Association
Mr. Nicholas Lok Jack is an Executive Director of Associated Brands (Investments) Limited, a holding company consisting of six manufacturing companies located in Trinidad & Tobago and Malta in the European Union. He also serves as a Non Executive Director of Guardian Life of the Caribbean, Guardian Asset Management Limited and Guardian General Insurance Limited, all subsidiaries of Guardian Holdings Limited. Nicholas was educated at Trinity College in Canada and thereafter attended The University of Miami where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a Double Major in Finance & Marketing. He also completed his MBA in Corporate Finance.

Mr. David Dulal-Whiteway | Managing Director | Republic Bank Limited
Mr. David Dulal-Whiteway has been a banker for over twenty-six years. He sits on several Boards within the Republic Bank Group and is the Chairman of The Foundation for the Enhancement and Enrichment of Life (FEEL), a non-profit organization. He is a graduate of The University of the West Indies (UWI), The University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Certified General Accountants of Canada (CGA).

Richard Young | Chairman | Young & Associates Limited | Trinidad and Tobago.
Richard Young worked in the regional Financial Services Sector for over forty years and is a Chartered Accountant by qualification. He served for seventeen years as Managing Director of Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago Ltd. during which Total Assets grew from approximately TT$ 3.8 B to over TT$ 17 B. He also served as Chairman of the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange from 1999 to 2001. He currently serves as Chairman of Young & Associates Limited, a Corporate Finance and Transaction Advisory Consulting Firm.

Dr. Axel Kravatzky | Founding Chairman | Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute
The Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute (CCGI) was established to promote good Corporate Governance throughout the Caribbean. Dr. Axel Kravatzky also initiated and was lead author of the Trinidad and Tobago Corporate Governance Disclosure research project which analyzed the reporting practices of organizations listed in the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange (TTSE).

Mr. Ram Ramesh | Chairman | Caribbean Centre for Leadership Development
Mr. Ram Ramesh is the Chairman of Caribbean Centre for Leadership Development (CCLD), a Think-Tank established to foster the development of management and leadership talent in the Caribbean. Mr. Ramesh has over twenty-five (25) years of experience working for some of the world’s leading companies, including Citicorp and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC). Mr. Ramesh holds a first degree in Applied Sciences and an MBA. He was the first man in Jamaica to receive the coveted designation of CFA® (Chartered Financial Analyst), the “Gold Standard” for investment analysts and portfolio managers, the world-over.
