Dr. L Welamedge

Lalith Welamedage is an academic researcher and enterprise / economic development practitioner with 20 years of international experience. His academic profile includes an MA Industrial Development and a PhD from Newcastle looking at SMEs, Technology and Innovation Policies.

 

He has held research posts at the Universities of Newcastle and Salford and a range of management and business advice roles in Sri Lanka. He has expertise in the areas of economic development; enterprise, technology and innovation; equality & diversity; and labour market analysis

 

Apart from research activities, Dr. Welamedage has undertaken undergraduate teaching duties at Newcastle University (UK) and Post Graduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka as a visiting lecturer on the MBA programme. He brings with him a wide range of experience in applied research and consultancy and has performed a number of consultancy for international agencies (e.g. The Commonwealth Secretariat, London Commonwealth Service Abroad programme (CSAP), The Commonwealth Secretariat, London German Technical Cooperation / Government of Sri Lanka Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Mongolia Office.
