Literature for me is a safe space from which I can feed my curiosity about people’s lives- the decisions they have made, the reasons why, the consequences. I am especially interested in narratives of power – political leadership (especially in the Caribbean) and narratives of those who have traditionally had no power – Black women and Caribbean peoples, as well as children. I also like evaluating the ways that information is packaged and expressed so the scholarship of teaching at the secondary and tertiary levels is also an area of interest.
