Dr. Sant is currently a Ph.D. student in Veterinary Parasitology and Lecturer in Veterinary Parasitology in the School of Veterinary Medicine, the University of the West Indies. The main focus of her research is vector-borne diseases such as malaria, leishmaniasis and tick-borne diseases.

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) – with honours - School of Veterinary Medicine, The University of the West Indies- 1998-2003
  • MPhil Veterinary Clinical Medicine (High commendation) – School of Veterinary Medicine, The University of the West Indies-2011-2016
  • Certificate in University Teaching And Learning (CUTL) – The University of the West Indies- 2018-2019

Research Interests

  • Tick-borne diseases of ruminants
  • Trypanosomiasis in ruminants
  • Canine Leishmaniasis in the canine, human and sandfly populations
  • Rat lungworm in the Giant African snails
  • Identification of the Plasmodium species causing malaria in Trinidad
