Dr. Michael Diptee is Lecturer in the Department of Clinical Veterinary Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of the West Indies (UWI), Trinidad and Tobago (2009-2022). Dr. Diptee qualified as an Animal Health Assistant in 1981 from the Regional Health Programme in Animal Health and Veterinary Public Health in Guyana and earned his DVM from the University of Guelph in 1993, MPhil in Veterinary Public Health UWI in 2004 and MSc in Tropical Animal Science and Production UWI in 2007. He completed the UWI Postgraduate Certification in University Teaching and Learning in 2012. He served as a member of the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Marine Resources (MALMR) in Trinidad and Tobago for 25 years. Dr. Diptee is the proud father of three children and three grandkids. He provides consults to many private and state veterinarians in Trinidad and the Caribbean. He also enjoys working alongside his wife and son, who are both veterinarians, when time allows.
