Dr.  Nagarajan Lakshmanan is a specialist small animal soft tissue surgeon and runs a parallel interest in anaesthesiology.  He retired as the Professor and Head of Clinics at Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, India before joining University of West Indies.  He has more than decades of experience in small animal soft tissue surgery.  He was instrumental in standardizing many clinical procedures in dogs and cats such as cutaneous reconstructive surgeries and surgical management of FLUTD in cats.  He was bestowed with the prestigious state Scientist award in India for his contribution to small animal soft tissue surgery. He has guided bout 8 postgraduate and 3 doctorate students and has published more than 75 articles in peer reviewed journals. He has undergone training in soft tissue surgery and anaesthesiology at Michigan State University, USA.

  • M.V.Sc. (Veterinary Surgery and Radiology- (Madras Veterinary College, India- 1986)
  • B.V.Sc. (Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry ( Madras Veterinary College, India- 1984)
