Dr. Natasha Mootoo is an alumnus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) having obtained her BSc (1992), DVM (1996) and Certificate in University Teaching and Learning (CUTL) (2020/2021). She joined the staff as a full-time lecturer in 2001 and she has been teaching at the SVM since in the areas of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery and over the last 10 years she has taught radiology to the clinical veterinary students. She became PennHIP certified in 2011 and she is also trained in flexible and rigid endoscopy. She is responsible for the radiology student clinical training as well as the caseload for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She has a special interest in the diagnosis of lameness in companion animals

Professional Experience
- She is a practicing companion animal veterinarian since graduating in 1996 and she has done many continuing education courses abroad throughout her professional career in the areas of radiology, ultrasonography, arthroscopy, and endoscopy
- Hosted continuing education workshops locally with luminaries in the field of diagnostic imaging such as Dr. Christine Gibbs, Professor Robert O’Brien, and Dr. Chris Warren Smith
- Delivered online webinars and workshops to veterinary students and colleagues in India, Malaysia, and Nigeria during the pandemic.
