MSU's "Adopt-a-Village" Program
The Management Society of The University of the West Indies launched its "Adopt-a-Village” program on December 20, 2020. Members of the MSU journeyed to the beautiful rural village of Plum Mitan in Manzanilla, and presented 17 food hampers to members of the community. Although the distribution of the hampers were based on need and not religion, the MSU was graciously hosted by the local Hindu temple whose members allowed their premises to be used for the distribution of hampers. The MSU was also treated to a sumptuous local Indian meal served on a ‘Sohari’ leaf (the experience being a first for some members of the MSU).
