Prof. Roger Hosein is a graduate of The University of the West Indies with first class honours who went on to obtain his Ph.D. in Economics from Cambridge University in 2000. He joined the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, The University of the West Indiest, St. Augustine Campus, later that year and currently holds the position of Senior Lecturer.

His research interests focuses on International Trade with emphasis on the Dutch Diseaes, Rybczynski and Reverse Rybzynski theory. He has also done work on intra industry trade, the natural trading partner hypothesis and economic integration.

He has written 7 books either directly or with other researchers and has published in both regional and international journals.
