The Student Engagement Department within the Division of Student Services and Development (DSSD) empowers students to maximize their UWI experience by fostering involvement in dynamic co-curricular and social experiences, meaningful out-of-classroom learning opportunities, and purposeful engagement across campus. Through this work, we help cultivate a positive, inclusive, and vibrant student community, one that adds depth and meaning to the university experience while supporting momentum toward academic success and holistic development.

Our team is committed to addressing the emotional, cognitive, and behavioural dimensions of student engagement. We do so by connecting students to programmes and developmental opportunities that build community and connection, support transition and adjustment, foster a sense of belonging, and nurture self-discovery, personal growth, and the exploration of interests and passions beyond the classroom.
