Registration is the formal process of becoming a member of the University, enabling you to attend lectures, receive tuition, sit exams, use the library and other facilities and be a member of the Guild of Students. In order to attend a class at The UWI, a student must first register for the course. Registration involves a series of steps that a student must follow to officially register for a course. Registration in 7 Easy Steps
STEP 1 - GET YOUR REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The first step of the 7 part registration process.

Download the UWI St. Augustine Academic Calendar to see all the IMPORTANT dates and deadlines that you should know for the current Academic Year.

Download and read your Faculty Booklet to see the courses you need to register for and the regulations governing your programme
Step 2 - REGISTER FOR GATE

GATE funding is currently available only for undergraduate students under the age of 50 years, who are nationals of Trinidad & Tobago. All other students – skip to STEP 3. Eligible Trinidad & Tobago nationals must apply for GATE every semester.
STEP 3 - GO TO ACADEMIC ADVISING
Check the Faculty Advising Schedule online for dates and instructions for your faculty’s undergraduate and postgraduate advising sessions. Attend your Academic Advising session.
STEP 4 - SELECT COURSES ONLINE
NOTE: The system does not check for timetable conflicts. Be careful not to select courses that meet at the same time.
STEP 5 - ENROLL IN FEE PAY TO OBTAIN FINANCIAL CLEARANCE
(NEW AND MANDATORY)
All student financial matters are dealt with by the Student Accounts & Receivables section. Currently the largest section in the Bursary, the Student Accounts & Receivables section is located on the ground floor of the Lloyd Brathwaite Student Administration Building.
STEP 6 - GET YOUR UWI ID CARD
The UWI ID card is a smartcard with a chip that also allows you to access certain facilities and services on the campus. NOTE: Financial Clearance is required in order to obtain a UWI Student ID Card.
STEP 7 - MAINTAIN FINANCIAL CLEARANCE
Submit Your Registration Documents. This should be submitted via e-Courier before the deadline date of your first instalment.
