Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law,
Science, Engineering (preferably with an emphasis on technology creation and/or management) or a closely related field.
Candidates should also possess:
- A minimum of three (3) years management/administration of complex projects across different disciplines
- Experience writing detailed reports (e.g. impact assessment reports)
- A track record of skills acquired in the following areas:
o Critical Judgement
o Using Information Technology
o Planning and Organizing
Candidates with the following would have an advantage:
- Project Management certification
- Demonstrated involvement in research and development activities
- Experience writing successful grant proposals for funding
- Proficiency in measurement and evaluation
The following would be considered assets:
- Experience in winning proposals for consultancy assignments
- Experience in management or strategy consulting
- Experience in publishing reports or academic papers
- Working Spanish language skills
- Evidence of prior success in entrepreneurship and business acumen
Special Responsibilities
- Managing the UWI-Trinidad and Tobago Research and Development Impact (RDI) Fund
o Managing the day-to-day operations and administration of the RDI Fund
o Monitoring and evaluating the execution of approved projects
o Providing technical, administrative and project management assistance and guidance to project teams
o Managing calls for proposals and the processes related to the evaluation and approval of new projects
o Designing and implementing the RDI Fund’s Communication and Knowledge
Management Strategies
o Documenting and communicating projects’ outcomes/outputs and their value to the
wider community where permissible
o Creating annual reports
- Managing the UWI St Augustine Innovation and Technology Transfer (ITT) Fund
o Managing the day-to-day operations and administration of the ITT Fund
o Monitoring and evaluating the execution of approved projects
o Providing technical, administrative and project management assistance and
guidance to project teams
o Managing calls for Proposals and the processes related to the evaluation and
approval of new projects
o Reviewing project documents and verifying the achievement of project objectives
with the respective team leaders;
o Documenting and communicating projects’ outcomes/outputs and their value to the
wider community where permissible
o Creating annual reports
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of the St. Augustine Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The appointment is for a fixed term of two years in the first instance.
