The Faculty of Law at UWI St Augustine, hosted the inaugural High Level Banking Workshop on February 21, 2015. The workshop featured internationally renowned presenters included lead facilitator, Sir Ross Cranston, High Court Judge in the UK and Professor at the University of London. The other main presenter at the work shop was, Sir William Blair, British High court Judge, leading commercial lawyer, QC. Also presenting was Dr. Chumah Amaefule, specialist in Banking Law, Director of new Banking law course, and Professor Rose-Marie Antoine, Dean and Professor of Offshore Financial Law and Labour Law at UWI, St. Augustine. As part of the workshop, the Faculty launched a new banking law course, to be offered for the first time at the St. Augustine campus from 2015. The new course is in keeping with the faculty’s emphasis on developing cutting-edge, relevant courses which offer a competitive edge to its students as future legal practitioners.
