The United Nations has proclaimed 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity (IYB) in order to raise public awareness of the importance of biodiversity and the consequences of its loss. The Department of Life Sciences and the Ministry of Housing and the Environment are doing their part to assist in the initiative by collaboratively hosting a Symposium on biodiversity-related research being done in Trinidad and Tobago. This symposium will be held on 25^th November, 2010, from 9 am, at the Crowne Plaza.
