(U)We Outside - The Carnival Series – Under the Samaan Tree

The Departments of Literary, Cultural & Communication Studies and Creative and Festival Arts invite you to attend a FREE series of talks on Carnival under the Samaan Trees at The UWI Learning Resource Centre. The aim of these conversations is to engender wider national discussions on the changing dynamics of the carnival and the role of citizens in effecting these changes. In this regard, these departments are hosting three conversations, scheduled for the following days:

These programmes will take the form of panel discussions, chaired by faculty members and peopled by experts in each of the relevant areas.

Who Owns Carnival – Friday, April 12 | 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Carnival as Love and Liberatory Practice – Friday, April 19 | | 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (the venue for this session has changed to the JFK Shuttle Stop)

(Re)stating Carnival’s place in Society – Friday, April 26 | | 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
