About the Principal’s Research Awards

The Principal’s Research Awards is an annual event hosted on campus since 2023 to recognize and celebrate outstanding research excellence among faculty and graduate students.  

This prestigious occasion serves as a platform to honor scholars whose work has made significant contributions to academia, industry, and society, aligning with the university’s mandate to drive innovation, impact, and sustainable development. 

The ceremony acknowledges exceptional research output, high-impact publications, innovation, and research aligned with national and global development priorities. Awardees represent a diverse range of disciplines, showcasing the university’s commitment to Agility, Alignment, and Access in research. 

These awards will be presented at the Principal’s Research Awards Ceremony carded for 26 November 2025. All selected awardees will be invited to present their research during research festival sessions on 27 & 28 November 2025.  

The researchers from the Faculties of Engineering, Food and Agriculture, Science and Technology, Medical Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities and Education, Law and Sports are invited to submit applications for Principal’s Research Awards. 

Campus & Faculty Level Awards 

The following campus and faculty level awards will be open to full time Academic Staff except for the ‘Principal’s Special Innovation Award’ which is open to all full time ASAP (Academic and Senior Administrative Professional) and ATSS (Administrative, Technical and Service Support) Staff.
