Triple A Strategy 2022-2027: Revenue Revolution
Following the approval of the Triple A Strategy 2022-2027: Revenue Revolution, the Campus held a Strategic Retreat with the following aims:
- Gain consensus on the Campus Strategies including those Phase 1 initiatives that will continue to be implemented in the Triple A Strategy 2022-2027: Phase II
- Encourage Organizational Transformation by agreeing on strategies to address governance, cultural and communication gaps
- Troubleshoot by analyzing existing gaps and organizational obstacles impeding institutional efficiency
- Prioritise by agreeing on Campus Initiatives to achieve KPIs
- Plan for Results by aligning strategy to execution in consideration of process, policy and resource implications for implementation of Campus Implementation Plan
It was agreed that strategic implementation be executed under the dual focus of Revenue Revolution and Institutional Strengthening. Subsumed within this dual focus are a number of approved projects, which, when effectively implemented, will positively influence the longevity, sustainability and impact of The UWI St. Augustine. The progress of implementation of these projects is assessed and reviewed by the Campus Implementation Committee.
Revenue Revolution Projects
The UWI Chocolate Factory
The establishment of the UWI chocolate factory as a commercially successful business as a spin-off of the Coca Research Centre to leverage the Cocoa Research Centre’s Pilot Chocolate Incubator given the increased demand for the factory’s intermediary products.
Alumni Giving Project
The UWI STA Alumni Giving Project focuses on raising funds from alumni giving to support student-centred projects. It proposes to identify strategies and mechanisms that would encourage philanthropy and gift-giving from STA’s various alumni segments and donors.
Global School of Medicine
The Global School of Medicine functions as an offshore Medical School, catering specifically to international students to offer an MD programme.
UWI Seal-it Limited
UWI Seal- it is an incorporated company and subsidiary of the UWISTA specializing in the production of sealants and lubricants that offers a range of unique, innovative and climate-resilient primers and roofing compounds
Humankind Multimedia Studio & Services
The Humankind Studio Project is a commercial arm of the Faculty of Humanities & Education offering core services of a multimedia studio to provide small event recording, basic and creative services, and basic and advanced live streaming services targeting local and regional clients.
The UWI Optometry Centre
The UWI Optometry centre is a commercial initiative of the Faculty of Medical Sciences established to provide a full range of eye care services with the intention to integrate student learning with prescriptions and management of operations.
Rental Sporting Facilities
The Faculty of Sport is expanding the rental of its Sporting Facilities to schools, corporate bodies, ministries, NGOs for sports days and other activities.
Bespoke Training and Workshops
The Faculty of Science and Technology is proposing to deliver training service to underserved industries, private and public sector organization and working professionals desirous of improving their job skills to meet changing demands and needs.
Access Project
The Faculty of Law launched the access project to expand access to legal products and services and improve the visibility profile of the faculty through expanded teaching to students, industry and members of society and providing legal services to members of the public.
Organic Pesticides and Sustainable Agriculture
The manufacture of the biopesticide Biophyte 1.0 which is a safe eco-friendly alternative to synthetic pesticides designed for tropical vegetable production systems and BioStimulant OJA001s a non-toxic, environmentally friendly and 100% organic agricultural extract which aims to improve plant growth and resistance.
UFS Dairy Unit
This project supports the revitalization of dairy production at The University Field Station towards increased commercialization. The Unit will also continue to support farming systems and technology research to mitigate the effect of climate change on food production and serve as a key resource for practical teaching and learning.

To determine and address the issues affecting student satisfaction with their university experience utilizing a solutions-oriented approach.
HR Matters
To determine and address the issues affecting staff satisfaction and engagement utilizing a solutions-oriented approach.
Self-Financing Programmes
To assess the self-financing programme landscape with the intention of creating a sustained enabling environment for increased programme development and enrolment.
Research Grant Funding
To determine the various avenues to sustainably diversify and increase grant revenue earning.
Digital Transformation
To create an enabling environment that fosters greater efficiency in operational processes and innovation in service delivery.
