The Department of Careers, Co-curricular & Community Engagement is prided on the exceptional standard of student-centric services that we offer. Our overall aim is the holistic development of our students thus we, (The UWI) have partnered with Republic Bank Limited to prepare you, our final-year students with the tools necessary to navigate the World of Work. We have strategically designed The World of Work (WOW) Programme to take you through the career process from start to finish all while gaining a practical edge. Get tips from industry professionals on how to write a professional resume, navigate formal business networking events, and prepare and practice for the interview process. The programme spans the academic year and is composed of five (5) key components; The Seminar and Launch, Resume Writing Workshops, Interview Preparation Workshops, Mock Interviews, and the Graduate Recruitment Fair.? With each session being a precursor for the other, each student is required to attend every session after the launch to advance to the remaining sessions. Additionally, top-performing students in the programme receive an exclusive invitation to the VIP Networking Cocktail Reception, where they gain an opportunity to meet and network with professionals in corporate Trinidad and Tobago. Students also gain access to bonus workshops that further enhance their career preparation such as Developing Your Personal Brand, Resume Writing Boot Camp, one-on-one resume critiques, and Getting Started on LinkedIn to name a few. Not forgetting our continuing students, as part of the WOW programme you have the opportunity to attend the?Vacation Employment Workshop?and?Vacation Recruitment Fair. Both Recruitment Fairs allow students to meet with company officials to distribute resumes and engage in discussions about employment and internship opportunities. The UWI-RBL World of Work Programme is one of our longest-running student development initiatives within the Division of Student Services and Development. The WOW Programme allows students to participate in the final component of the programme, which is the Graduate Recruitment Fair. This recruitment fair gives final-year students of the St. Augustine campus exclusive access to recruiters from a variety of firms and industries who are interested in meeting with you. The UWI, St. Augustine is the top choice for graduate recruitment in the region and as a student on this campus you have access to these opportunities. Furthermore, when you register and participate in the WOW Programme you have access to year-round opportunities outside of the recruitment fair. We are in constant contact with recruiters supporting them with their recruitment needs.
