UWI, St. Augustine Wins Regional Next-Gen Tourism Showcase 2025!
We are delighted to announce that The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus has emerged as the winner of the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s prestigious Regional Next-Gen Tourism Showcase 2025, held in Times Square, New York City on 3rd June 2025!
Representing the TOUR 2001 Caribbean Tourism course, the winning team comprised:

The students impressed the judges with their powerful and engaging pitch, "Healing Roots" — a visionary concept centered on revitalizing Paramin Village as an agri-edu tourism hub. Their proposal brilliantly integrated elements of culture, wellness, sustainable farming, and community storytelling, offering a fresh and immersive tourism experience.
The team’s dynamic presentation was not only well-researched and creatively delivered, but it also stood out as a shining example of youth-led innovation shaping the future of Caribbean tourism.
