Faculty Entry Requirements - Law

Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
Students complete all three years of the Law programme at the UWI St Augustine Campus, Trinidad & Tobago.
- Minimum of five (5) subjects at CSEC (CXC) General Proficiency (Grades I or II pre-1998 and Grades I, II or III from June 1998) or GCE O-level which must include English Language and Mathematics.
- Any three (3) 2 - unit CAPE or GCE A-level subjects- with grades 1 or A
or - The pre-law certificate from the Faculty of Law, at the UWI, St. Augustine campus with a minimum GPA of 3.7
or - An Associate Degree/Certificate/Diploma from an approved tertiary-level institution with a minimum GPA of 4.0
or - A Degree from an approved tertiary-level institution with a minimum GPA of 3.5
Special consideration will be given to applicants from law enforcement agencies, regional applicants and mature applicants.
The University of the West Indies offers a Bachelor of Law’s degree (LLB), which satisfies the requirements for entry into the Council of Legal Education professional law schools in the Caribbean region, where upon graduation with a Legal Education Certificate, students are admitted to practice.
