University & Faculty Entry Requirements
- Passes in a minimum of five (5) subjects at CSEC/CXC General Proficiency (Grades I or II pre-1998 and Grades I, II and III from June 1998) or GCE O-Level/BGCSE, or their equivalents, which must include English Language and Mathematics.
AND
- Passes in at least two 2-unit subjects at CAPE (or two GCE A-level or equivalent qualification), at least one of which must be a Science subject.
OR
- An approved Diploma or Associate Degree in Science from a tertiary level institution recognized by the UWI with normally a minimum average of B or GPA of 2.5.
Faculty/Departmental Entry Requirements
- BSc Actuarial Science (Special)
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Pure Mathematics with a Grade 1 or Grade 2 in each unit.
- BSc Biochemistry
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent in Biology and Chemistry.
- BSc Biology
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Biology or
- An approved Associate Science Degree in Biology with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- BSc Biology with Specializations
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Biology or
- An approved Associate Science Degree in Biology with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- BSc Biomedical Technology (Special)
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or equivalent, one of which must be Physics OR Pure Mathematics with Physics at CSEC/CXC or GCE O-Level.
- An approved Associate Degree in Physics/Biomedical Engineering Technology/Electrical Engineering Technology/Electrical and Electronic Technology/Mechanical Engineering Technology with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or
- CAPE Associate Degree in Natural Sciences including Physics Units I & II or Mathematics Units I & II AND Physics at CSEC/CXC or GCE O-Level
- CAPE Associate Degree in Technical Studies including Physics Units I & II or Mathematics Units I & II AND Physics at CSEC/CXC or GCE O-Level.
- BSc Chemistry
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Chemistry or
- An approved Associate Science Degree in Chemistry with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- BSc Chemistry and Management (Special)
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Chemistry with an average minimum Grade of 3 in Chemistry or
- An approved Associate Science Degree in Chemistry with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- BSc Computer Science or BSc Computer Science (Special)
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be an approved Science subject or
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Economics or Accounting or
- A two-year Associate Degree or a two-year Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Sciences, Management or Engineering with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- BSc Computer Science with Management (Special)
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be an approved Science subject with an average minimum Grade of 4 or
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Economics or Accounting with an average minimum Grade of 4 or
- A two-year Associate Degree or a two-year Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Sciences, Management or Engineering with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- BSc Electronics
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) including Pure Mathematics and Physics or
- An approved Associate Degree in Physics/Biomedical Engineering Technology/Electrical Engineering Technology/Electrical and Electronic Technology/Mechanical Engineering Technology with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or
- CAPE Associate Degree in Natural Sciences including Units I & II in Physics and Mathematics or
- CAPE Associate Degree in Technical Studies including Units I & II in Physics and Mathematics or Units I & II in Electrical and Electronic Technology with CSEC/CXC or GCE O-Level Physics.
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology.
- BSc Environmental Science
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or GCE A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Biology or Chemistry or Geography or Environmental Science AND passes in Biology or Chemistry or Physics at CSEC/CXC or
- An approved Associate Science Degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- BSc Environmental Science & Sustainable Technology (Special)
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or GCE A-Level equivalent, with an average minimum Grade of 4 or D, one of which must be Biology or Chemistry or Geography or Environmental Science AND passes in Biology or Chemistry or Physics at CSEC/CXC or
- An approved Associate Science Degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- BSc Information Technology or BSc Information Technology (Special)
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be an approved Science subject or
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Economics or Accounting or
- A two-year Associate Degree or a two-year Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Sciences, Management or Engineering with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- BSc Mathematics
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Pure Mathematics.
- BSc Mathematics (Special)
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Pure Mathematics with an average minimum Grade of 3.
- BSc Physics
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or equivalent, one of which must be Physics OR Pure Mathematics with Physics at CSEC/CXC or GCE O-Level.
- An approved Associate Degree in Physics with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or
- Passes in the CAPE Associate in Natural Sciences including Physics (Units I & II) or Mathematics (Units I & II) and CSEC/CXC or GCE O-Level Physics.
- BSc Statistics and Economics (Special)
- Passes in two CAPE subjects (Units I & II) or A-Level equivalent, one of which must be Pure Mathematics with an average minimum Grade of 3.
- Passes in CAPE Economics or Accounting (Units I & II) will be an asset.
