The Bachelor of Education degree is a professional degree, which is normally intended for practitioners in the field of education. Its main thrust is towards the holistic development of reflective professionals who are sensitive to the need to combine caring and advocacy with competencies in school and classroom management, leadership, and information and communication technologies.
Candidates may pursue a major in either of two options:
- Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) or
- Primary Education
Areas of specialization within the primary option are:
- Educational Administration
- Language Arts
- Mathematics
- Science
- Social Studies
CSEC Minimum passes: 5
CSEC Mandatory: English Language, Mathematics
CAPE Minimum passes: 2
Alternative Qualifications: Applicants with a Teachers Diploma will complete this B.Ed. Degree in 2 years.
