The Optometry programme is an undergraduate degree which spans four years. The first two years are devoted to theoretical training. The clinical experience starts in the third year with an internship and continuing theoretical training. The fourth year will serve as an externship where students will gain practical experience at public and private eye clinics, with qualified supervisors.

CAPE Mandatory: Physics
Alternative Qualifications:

An appropriate Associate Degree or equivalent certification with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary level institution

Any other appropriate qualifications and experience acceptable to the Faculty of Medical Sciences.
