Overview
The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social & Economic Studies (SALISES), in collaboration with BHP Billiton Trinidad and Tobago and the Turtle Village Trust of Trinidad & Tobago, is issuing a call for papers for an International Conference on the theme:
Turtle Conservation, ecotourism and sustainable community development
The conference, which will be held at the Learning Resource Centre on St. Augustine Campus of the University of the West Indies, Trinidad & Tobago over the period July 28-29, 2009, is a forum for the exchange of ideas on critical issues related to turtle conservation, ecotourism, sustainable community development and the environment. Participation is open to scholars, policy makers, graduate students, professionals and all persons interested in the burning issues associated with this theme. We are particularly interested in the participation of NGOs and civil society organizations who may wish to present panels on the theme.
Publication in Caribbean Dialogue
A selection of papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of the Caribbean Dialogue, a journal of the SALISES.
