Lawrence O’Farrell is Professor of Dramatic
Arts and Coordinator of Continuing Teacher Education
at the Faculty of Education, Queen’s University.
He has published extensively on arts education and
recently co-authored a paper on Arts Education and
Instrumental Outcomes that was commissioned by UNESCO
and will present the Keynote Address for the 2005
Symposium here in Trinidad.

Tony Jackson is Senior Lecturer in Drama and Co-Director
of the Centre for Applied Theatre Research in the School of Arts, Histories & Culture at The University of Manchester. He has published and lectured extensively in the field of educational theatre; is currently working on a study of educative theatre
in America and Britain since the 1930s; and in 2005-8 will direct a nationally-funded research programme into performance as a medium of learning in museums and historic sites. In 2003 he was the recipient of the Judith Kase-Cooper Honorary Research Award from the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.
