Trinidad and Tobago General Information
Trinidad is 4,828 sq. km (1,864 sq. miles) while Tobago is 300
sq. km (116 sq. miles). The climate is warm and tropical; the early
months are dry while rain falls constantly between June and December.
It is a democratic republic nation within the Commonwealth with
a population of approximately 1.3 million. Its multi-ethnic community
is reflected in the variety of food and music that is easily available.
Airline Information
Airlines include BWIA, American Airlines, Air Canada and LIAT,
which services the entire Caribbean. Their major gateways are Miami,
New York, Toronto, London, Caracas and San Juan. Departure
tax from Trinidad is TT$100.00.
Transport - Internal
Local Transport
Route Taxis are easily available on the main roads such as the
Eastern Main Road and the Southern Main Road. Taxis are also available
along the Priority Bus Route which provides quick, reliable transport
for commuters travelling along the East/West Corridor from Arima
to Port of Spain.

Business hours are-usually from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday
to Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday. Banks are open from
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and on Friday from 8:00
a.m. to 12 noon and 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The TT dollar
floats against the US dollar at TT$6.30 (September 31st 2004).
