The Asa Wright Nature Centre is situated
1,200 feet in the Northern Range. It is an old estate
house which has become a conservation and study centre for naturalists
and bird-watchers.
There are 24 twin-bedded rooms, a restaurant and
guided walks along nature trails.

The Pointe-a-Pierre Wild Fowl Trust situated
on the grounds of the Pointe-a-Pierre oil refinery
breeds endangered birds and waterfowl which are returned to natural
wild life areas.

There are 13 official wildlife sanctuaries including the Caroni
Swamp, EI Tucuche, Soldado Rock and Saut 'Eau, Trinidad's only pelican
breeding ground. In Tobago there is the Buccoo Reef and the Nylon
Pool.
