CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

Protecting The UWI St. Augustine Community

The UWI St. Augustine Campus continues to monitor the global developments with Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The health, wellness and safety of all students and staff remains priority and we are committed to keeping the campus community informed of important changes, based on the latest public health guidelines applicable to Trinidad and Tobago. As part of our commitment, this webpage has been developed as a resource for key information. This Website will serve as a resource for key information.

The Campus Incident Management Team (IMT) remains the key group responsible for leading the direction of the St. Augustine Campus during the Covid-19 pandemic. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the IMT has acted based on the Campus Covid-19 Response Plan which is guided by The UWI COVID-19 Task Force, the Ministry of Health, and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA). It considers a number of contingencies across several functional areas, inclusive of business continuity for IT, research, facilities support, safety and security, and other essential services. The team reports information based on the following:

  • Confirmed cases reported in Trinidad and Tobago
  • Confirmed cases reported on our Campus

The UWI Covid-19 Task Force, established by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Hilary Beckles and Chaired by Professor Clive Landis, continues to assist the Caribbean on a regional level through the knowledge and expertise available within the University to ensure the Caribbean's continued readiness and agility in response to the ongoing pandemic.
